She was there when I was born (not in the hospital, but we owned her then) and I grew up with her. We had her for 12 years and one day dad was hosing the pavement. He flicked the hose and didn't realise she was there. Shona hated water, so she jumped away. She crashed into the steps on our verandah and yelped really loudly and started to wimper. Shona never wimpered. We took her to the vets, and they asked if she could stay overnight for some tests. So, we sadly left her with her fave. vet Jenny. When we came back we got some bad news. Jenny told us that Shona had broken her leg and they had also found Cancer in two places in her legs. This was bad. They gave us the option to amputate Shona's leg, but she already had severe athritis, so we didn't think it was fair to make her live with 3 legs in a backyard full of stairs. So, we made the decision to put her down. I said goodbye to my best friend that night and I took her collar as a memory before we left. Jenny said it wouldn't hurt Shona, and I trusted her. (i remember them though but when they died i didnt cry i really didnt understand death) I also had 3 hamsters that died a dog we had to give away and a dog that ran away my Animals always go away...
